Our mission is to be entirely committed to the overall wellness and education of our patients and their families through the diagnosis and treatment of their mental state.
Our History
Meridian Mental Health Associates was founded by Dr. Mary Jo Hanigan, MN, MD, PC in March 2010. When the clinic started, the team only consisted of Dr. Hanigan, an office manager, a therapist, and Dr. Natalie Baker, MD. The name “Meridian” was chosen as it is defined as the highest stage of development. The Meridian logo was designed to signify a compass, as our staff will help you find your way to your meridian.
In 2008, NeuroStar Advanced Therapy was the first TMS device to receive FDA clearance for adults with Major Depressive Disorder. So in October 2012, Dr. Hanigan brought Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation to our practice and we were refounded as Meridian Mental Health & TMS Center of Omaha. We are proud to be the most experienced and trusted TMS team in Omaha!
The company was quickly outgrowing the space, so in the spring of 2018, Meridian moved to its current location on 69th and Pacific. In March 2019, Esketamine was approved by the FDA, in conjunction with an oral antidepressant, for the treatment of adults with treatment-resistant depression. Two months later, in May, Spravato was brought to Meridian as another ground-breaking alternative.
